Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced, and ambitious education that nurtures every child’s academic, personal, and spiritual development. Rooted in our Christian vision for every child to ‘Let your light shine’ (Matthew 5:16), and guided by our BRIGHT values - Bravery, Respect, Inspiration, Gratitude, Honesty, and Togetherness, we aim to equip all pupils with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive in an ever-changing world.   

Through engaging and inclusive learning experiences across all subjects of the National Curriculum,  we aim to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Our learning is carefully sequenced so that children build secure knowledge and skills progressively over time. We help pupils make meaningful connections between their learning and the wider world, enabling them to understand its purpose, relevance to their lives and how it supports their future.   

As a Rights Respecting School, children learn about their rights and responsibilities, which are woven throughout the curriculum and reflected in everyday school life. Our curriculum also celebrates the cultural diversity of our school community, helping children to develop respect, empathy and understanding for one another.   

Children learn about the Global Goals, encouraging them to think critically about fairness, sustainability  and their role in creating a better future. We aim to empower pupils to become positive ‘change-makers’ within their local community and beyond, understanding that even small actions can make a meaningful  difference.   

Oracy is key in our curriculum. We encourage children to speak confidently, articulate their ideas clearly in full sentences, explain their thinking and listen respectfully to others. Opportunities for discussion, questioning and purposeful talk are woven throughout all areas of learning, helping pupils to become effective communicators.

Through enriching and inspiring learning experiences and opportunities beyond the classroom, we broaden children's horizons, build confidence and develop character.
