If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, development or wellbeing, please talk to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. They can then arrange a meeting with the Inclusion Leader, if required.

SEND at St Matthew's

At St Matthew’s, we are committed to ensuring that every child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is fully supported to thrive and succeed. Children may be identified as needing additional support at any stage in their life or education, and so we work closely with parents, teachers and our Inclusion Leader to create personalised plans with clear targets. We adapt teaching through high-quality classroom practice, tailored interventions, and specialist resources to meet individual needs. Support may include small group work, one-to-one support, and targeted programmes for communication, reading, writing, maths and social skills. We also work in partnership with external professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech and language therapists, where appropriate. All provision is carefully monitored to ensure it has a positive impact. We value strong communication with families and encourage parents to speak with us at any time so that, together, we can ensure every child is supported to achieve their full potential and 'let their light shine'.  A copy of our SEND offer can be found attached below.
